In 2004, a group of enthusiastic state and civic leaders founded a City Year site in Little Rock with the support of then President of the United States William J. Clinton. Today, the Arkansas site serves in the Little Rock and Jacksonville North Pulaski School Districts, deploying 35-45 corps members annually in K-8 classrooms. Our tutoring and mentoring services reach 4,000 students across two districts, thanks to the support of partners like you.

City Year relies on generous donations from individuals, corporations, and foundations to fulfill our dual mission of keeping kids on track to graduate with their peers while training the next generations of leaders. The Challenge
Education in Arkansas is in crisis. Test scores from 2022 - 2023 show that only 38% of the state's third-grade students read at grade level. Suppose Arkansas' K-12 education system continues to produce graduates who are unprepared for today's economy. In that case, our state will see more young adults opting out of the workforce, less economic development, and greater demands on public systems.
